Gerard Farreras, bass, studied singing at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu de Barcelona.
He attended masterclasses by Jaume Aragall, Simon Estes, Deborah Polaski, Joan Pons, Carles Chausson, Eric Halfvarson, Dolora Zajick, Bo Skovus, Thomas Hampson, Matthew Polenzani, among others.
Awarded with 5 extraordinary prizes at the Viñas Tenor Competition (Barcelona) and Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto, Parma (Italy).
Actually he is an ensemble member of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
In the 23/24 season, Gerard made his debut as Raimondo Bidebent (Lucia di Lammermoor), Timur (Turandot), and he reprised Colline (La Bohème), Don Basilio (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Dottor Grenville (La Traviata), among others.
He was a member of the Internationales Opernstudio of the Stuttgart Staatsoper for three seasons, where he played Sarastro and Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte), Angelotti (Tosca), Zio Bonzo (Madama Butterfly), Basilio (The Barber of Seville), Zúñiga (Carmen ), Farfarello and Die Küchin (Die Liebe zu drei Orangen), Nikitic (Boris Godgunov), among others.
He was previously part of the NRW Opernstudio for a season where he sang Caronte (Orlando Paladino), Il Grande Sacerdote (Nabucco) and Machinist (Vec Makropoulos).
He has also sung Die Zauberflöte at the Peralada Festival, Tosca in Oviedo, Otello in Pamplona and La Bohème and Messa da Requiem in Sabadell, Anna Bolena at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia and Nos at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
